Land the arrivals, send departures out through their exit points and keep every aircraft 3 miles or 1,000 feet apart.
Easy: light traffic, calm weather. Normal: storms, emergencies and the odd runway change. Hard: busy skies, frequent storms and emergencies. Runway changes are announced 5 minutes ahead. An infinite shift runs until you press End.

Commands
Type the callsign, then one or more commands. Click an aircraft or a strip to fill in its callsign. Commands can be chained: BAW123 C 6 C CPT T.
C 240 | Turn to heading 240 (three digits) |
C 4 | Climb or descend to 4,000 ft (one or two digits) |
C OCK | Fly direct to a fix. Add L or R to choose the turn |
C 3 EX | Expedite the climb or descent |
S 180 | Speed (max 250 below 10,000 ft) |
L 27L | Cleared to land. At or below 3,000 ft inside the ILS cone (the faint wedge, 5° either side of the centreline) the aircraft locks on and lands by itself. Outside the cone it keeps its heading (within 60° of the runway) and locks on when it enters. Only A breaks the lock |
T | Cleared for take-off. Give an altitude first |
W | Line up and wait |
H BNN | Hold at a fix, or where it is |
A | Go around, or cancel a line-up |
Send any aircraft to a waypoint with C and its name. When it gets there it holds and waits for your next instruction. To land by waypoints alone, route an arrival to the final waypoint and clear it in one go: BAW123 C 3 C KOVEN L 27R (KOVEN is 10 nm out on final for the 27s, MARLE for the 09s). Give departures their exit point the same way: C CPT.
Symbols: ◎ holding fix, △ approach waypoint, ✦ exit point. Arrivals reaching their holding fix without instructions will hold there. Departures leave through their exit point (✦) at 4,000 ft or higher. On the same final, keep 2.5 nm behind medium aircraft, 4 nm behind heavies (H) and 6 nm behind an A380 (J). Scoring: landing or correct exit +10, emergency in time +20, separation lost −10, wrong exit or leaving the airspace −10, storm −5, diversion −30, missed approach −2. A collision ends the shift. Space bar pauses.
